Minecraft Automatic Farm: Harvest and Plant

In Minecraft 1.16, farmers can now compost surplus wheat seeds and beetroot seeds to create a fully automatic farm. This new feature allows villagers to tend to crops like potato, carrot, beetroot, and wheat, providing an endless supply of food for consumption or breeding purposes.

To set up this automatic villager farm, start by placing a single chest on the ground. Next, build a composter by following these steps:

1. Place a hopper directly on top of the chest.

2. Add Redstone dust to every observer.

3. Create a border around the farm using blocks to prevent Pumpkin and Melon stems from producing blocks outside the farm.

Once you've built your composter, place it on top of the hopper. The Hopper Minecart will roll over the rails above the Hoppers, dispensing collected items into the collection Chests. When the blocks are detected and smashed, they drop the items collected by the Hopper Minecart running below them.

The Observer acts as a power source, triggering the Redstone Dust when it detects a plant block has grown. This will power the Pistons next to that Observer, ensuring at least one of them crushes the Pumpkin or Melon block and turns it into an item drop.

With this automatic villager farm, you can harvest potato, carrot, beetroot, and wheat without lifting a finger. Simply wait for your stems to grow and start producing blocks. You'll have endless amounts of food for consumption or breeding, making this a valuable addition to any Minecraft world.
